I help leaders, philanthropists, and companies do more good.

Let’s do some good together.
-
Thought partnership
Leading is lonely, and we all do better with a trusted partner to support us. I have real, recent experience with the kinds of issues you are dealing with.
-
Change management
There is a ton of transition in the social impact space right now: people, strategy, values, business models. The stakes are high for getting it right.
-
Impact
It’s what we’re here for, but too often we let our focus on impact get disrupted by other issues. Let’s look at the impact you want to have, remove the barriers, and deliver on mission.
-
EDI
Predominantly white institutions (PWIs) need help living up to their equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) aspirations. I can help, always with BIPOC colleagues.
-
People and culture
Hiring and developing great teams is the hardest thing social impact leaders do. Let’s figure out who you need and how to help them thrive, with a commitment to equity.
-
Strategy and revenue
What are you trying to get done? How will you pay for it? Let’s get clear, so that both the process and the product leave your organization stronger.
Why me?
Over a couple of decades of running things - a successful Congressional race, press offices in Afghanistan and Bosnia, Mercy Corps’ global fundraising and marketing team, a thriving social enterprise — I have learned some valuable lessons about leadership and social impact.
One of those lessons is that sometimes the right outside partner can help you and your colleagues think differently, break out of the stuck-ness, and do something special together.
I have been on the client side of relationships with social impact consulting outfits large and small, so I have a good sense of how to make these projects work well, with less risk of wasting your time, money, and social capital.
It all starts with a conversation, so give me a shout.
